11/16 – 11/23 Week Recap + L4D2 deal
Okay, I give up on waiting. I typically post a raView around 3 EST/12 PST but with a really good L4D2 deal at the end of this, I wanted to get it out ASAP. It’s so good, I just brought it up to the front now.
A lot of $30 deals for Left4Dead 2 has circulated around, but this is the best I’ve seen so far if you want to beat the Black Friday rush (The Xbox 360 version is $40). Dell offer here. Hurry, it ends in two days!
It’s the start of a new week, which means it’s back to work or school for most of us, so if you’re wondering what happened during this week, well… now you’ll know.
11/16 Monday [night]: Left 4 Dead 2 is released in the Pacific/Central area of the United States, with East Coasters getting them at midnight.
11/17 Tuesday: Left 4 Dead 2 is released everywhere else and begins distribution through Steam, where the online retailer had some delay in getting the game out, as they mentioned on their blog. (Also probably because retailer stores pressured IW/Activision to delay Steam launch so they could have better sales.)
11/18 Wednesday: First raView is up with impressions of L4D2. We also advertise our new product of awesome shoutcasting.
11/19 Thursday: The Dolphins hand the Panthers a loss on Thursday Night Football, 24-17. Oh, and the raView talks about the controversial “No Russian” level of CoD4: Modern Warfare 2.
11/20 Friday: We have our first Gamefire “Format Challenge” QuakeLive Duel between [51]Gillz and TiLter with Gillz taking the match 2 maps to nil. Video here. (raView covers matchmaking)
11/21 Saturday: Left4Dead 2 puts out a new patch that fixes some bugs and glitches. The raView talks about the competitive future of Left4Dead 2 in Scavenge/Versus mode. (Scavenge ftw btw)
11/22 Sunday: Cincinnati Bengals (now 7-3-0) lost to the Oakland Raiders (now 3-7-0)?! Maybe the Raiders shouldn’t play JaMarcus Russell anymore. Daily raView talks about the term “eSports”. CEVO announces a holiday Call of Duty 4 tournament sponsored by NZXT with some nice prizes. We also put up our Gamefire QuakeLive Community poll, so be sure to vote [please]!
So here we are! Monday again. Just a reminder: the Bring it Back Safely CTF QuakeLive match between Who Run It and s.o.y will be tonight at 9:45 PM EST, so be sure to tune in!
For happy Raiders fans who realize the truth hurts, send a thoughtful, well-composed letter to vxu@gamefire.com (I’d appreciate it as a Seahawks fan.)
