Affliction vs Dignitas or no ?

Affliction vs FATE
This match started out pretty ordinary and as expected, FATE was allowed the first objective, with relative ease. Once thy popped the cherry on the door however, they walked into a crapload of crossfire and a very good defense by affliction. FATE ended up with an almost full hold time of 9 minutes.
Team Affliction has been around for many years, having either placed top 3 or won most of the quakecons they’ve been to in the QCon RtCW tournaments there. They’ve played (and beat) teams like The Doctors and Silent Service. This proved to be to their advantage as teamwork and game experience managed to get them a time of 3 minutes.
Into the 3rd round we went with talk in MM1 of who’s winning the dignitas match (see later on in this article for that match report), But Affliction starting off on the attacking side this time to set a tim
e of 6:24 had a bit of a harder time than before, Was it a bit of luck or did they take FATE by surprise in the first half… In my opinion, probably a bit of both. But with a solid defence FATE did well to keep Affliction to 6:24.
Now again it was all in afflictions hands as all they had to do was keep FATE from beating their time and they would be off to the finals….
And this is where it all broke down for FATE… after a quick early grab which would have netted them the finals, they wasn’t able to get back to the truck before the steamroller of holly, chrome and vid came rumbling up behind them.
After that, it was al affliction and unfortunately, FATE got held to a Full Hold and affliction went dancing off into the sunset singing the Intel i7 chime heh..
Now everyones attention turned to Dignitas vs FX.
With -a-.v1d getting most of the awards in that 2nd half, he’s my hacker of the match, F8.Hardup worked his lil butt off and played his role, but with a few impressive kills seemed to die more than the rest

Dignitas vs FX
Coming into this match half way through, we saw a bit of controversy in this match as both teams got held to a full hold. So we were all even stevens going into the turn.
After a few server problems for a couple of the dignitas players, we finally managed to get the ball rolling. Dignitas held FX to a full hold in the 3rd round, so all they had to do was to beat that 10 minute time to go into the finals….
But this is where the controversy starts…….. at 40 seconds, ares with the documents in his grubby little mitts climbed on board the truck. After faffing about for what seemed like ages, he managed to start the transmit at 35. This is where the fun starts because at 30 seconds, in comes reload/dozer and wilfi3d from dignitas, muzzles a blazing. Ares stops the transmit and takes out one of them at 30 seconds, but unfortunately at 29 he gets taken out after that, dignitas are all over that truck like a bunch of flies…….
So what’s the controversy you say???????
According to FX, Ares game glitched and the transmit was stuck on 22% and wouldnt go any further…. Now of course being the impartial person that i have to be, what I saw i called… it’s now down to the admins and so on to watch the demo’s and make a decision. FX of course wanted to play 9:50 which in the end wouldnt have mattered if they did, but begrudgingly, they carried on regardless after a bit of a slanging match.
In the end like I say it didn’t really matter as Dignitas did a sneaky after blowing the doors while they all piled in the front door… 2 people sneaked around the side and grabbed the documents. They ran back passing the documents between themselves to get a final time of 3 minutes…
and that was the end of that…..
Like the predictions said all along….. we will be seeing dignitas vs affliction in the finals tonight (Monday) at 9:30pm est…. Who’s going to walk away with 5 grand in cold hard cash? 5 i7 processors and motherboards for first place… Who knows….. But being a brit, i’m up for dignitas (plus i have money riding on them so they better win hehehe)
