Welcome again.....

 Doesn't appear that I have any regular readers, but i'll continue writing anyway. It passes the time a hell of a lot faster at work, especially when there is nothing to do due to the "holiday season" if you will. Which doesn't bother me so much i mean come on, who is going to complain about getting paid to do basically nothing? sure it wouldbe less boring if there were things to do, but meh.

Anyway! i would like to give any readers a Happy New Year shout out. I hope you all had fun with your late night parties and drunken episodes infront of your friends or not so friends. My new year's eve consisted of sitting home without a 1 drink playing CoH. Why you ask? because i got in trouble with the boss lady. I won't go into detail because thats not for public viewing, but long story short....there were big plans for new years, then in the drop of a hat...none. But there is always next year? ....right?

 Which brings me onto my next point of interest, "The 1 Button Wonder". What exactly is this you may ask, because i would like to know myself. I was accused of being this last night during a ranked match against British player on Semois (my favourite map, with angoville being a very close second).

 The game started out very well i must say, there was alot of early game infantry battles and retreats on both parts. The focus was the middle of town, eventually with myself winning the battle for town square and going onto win, but it wasn't as easy as i had thought so early. With a final infantry retreat from town i knew he would be back very soon with armor support, with the easy fuel for his hq to move to and controlling almost half the map....

I tried cutting off the strat point at his bridge so he couldn't rake in the munitions for brens or rifle grenades, but he held it pretty well. As soon as i moved in to try and cut him off or even down on the island with the fuel, he oddly enough had an infantry push in the same direction, wich i didn't want to risk losing and then lose the town. So i fell back to the center of town. While all of this is happening i am trying to equip a couple of Grenadiers with panzershrecks for his armor that would be comming next. Of course as SOON as they are done upgrading and im getting ready to hit them all up to get schrecks....armor rolls into town. Rather than fight, lose a squad or two or hold out untill schrecks are up. i fell into a full retreat, and he regained town for about 5 minutes untill i was able to get Panzer IV's and 2 more squads of shrecks.

 The score at this point is probably 430-250 in my favor. So instead of panic, like i used to when i first started playing. i said "lots of time....just get schreks and some infantry support (most of my squads being schrecks, not good for fighting infantry) i got a panzer IV and began my assault. Which worked very well! i was up only agaisnt 1 cromwell, a command cromwell and a mass of Tommy's. 

 I began the assault by using my mortor halftrack to lay a barrage into the church where he had probably occupied. Which followed by my Panzer rolling into town first to draw in the cromwell thinking he had an easy kill. As soon as the cromwell was in range, in came the schrecks. The cromwell was raped so hard it made me feel half bad that the schrecks do so much damage.

 Here is where it gets REALLY interesting. Behind the chuch right in the intersection he had put up a Bofors cannon. which completely ripped apart 3/4 schreck squads before i could eveven hit my retreat button. there were 2 shrecks on the ground next to the church, my Panzer IV is locked down for rapid fire and in comes a Level 2 Vet Captain....and he goes right for a schreck, along with a  tommy squad to get the other. the first was fired by the tommy which took away a fair chunk like any schreck would.....about 1/4. The captain runs up about 15 feet away from the tank which is just getting out of lock down to fall back and BOOM....1 schreck from the captain and the Panzer IV is done....I couldn't believe what i saw.

 Another Panzer IV had just finished and i wanted revenge on that captain so bad i even considerd sending it in alone just to kill it, but that would of ended the game there if i lost another panzer. I still had my motor track, 1 squad with schrekcs and panzer IV. the Bofors being my biggest issue along with the god like captain with a schreck. i pulled probably the slyest shit ever.

Out came the Ketten and i cloaked my way up to the north VP and started capping to draw his attention away while my motor track took out to bofors with an incendiary round and 1 motor barrage believe it or not from max range with no spotter, lucky? .....maybe. once the bofors was out, in came my luffwaffe squads and shrecks with a panzer IV for good measure. 

The battle lasted about 10-15 minutes just constant fire from everything back and forth with heavy cover. the motor wasn't even really doing anything usefull. Why he thought sending in 1 firefly at medium range with a command tank would do anything was beyond me.....and yes, you guessed the shrecks raped the firefly to. The com,mand tank managed ot get away with level 1 vet and 1/4 health before i had to take back my infantry for reinforcement, but the town was mine again!.

i manged to scramble back and cap out much of the center again before he could come back and do anything major. once everything was clam again for a few minutes i set up my units in cover they could find and waited for any attack he had left, which i had no idea what he was capable at this point totally.

 This is when the mass confusion began via global chat. The word's "Are you another 1 button wonder to?". I honestly had no idea what he was talking about or refering to. He then accused me of only being good with Panzer Elite, which i found funny because it was only my 30th ranked game as Panzer Elite. For the record, Wehrmacht is actually my favourite and most played. After a brief bit of smack talk i could hear multiple squads screaming in my ear i hit space to go to the scene and every single infantry squad i had next to church was all but in peices....1 petard round smack in the right spot and they were all toast. I KNOW! YOU DON'T NEED TO SAY IT! "why we're you blobing your infantry in the first place?!", and the my excuse is the converstation at the time, which really shoulndn't be a valid one for a silly mistake.

 Since this is taking a lot longer than expected, i'll sum up the rest. I was NEVER able to field enough infantry to make a comeback in the amount of time i had left, and whats the point against enough petard rounds to destroy whatever it wanted? i did it agian, it took 3 kettengrads but i kept harassing the north point along with the motor untill i eventually won by cap. The south point wasn't evne touched the entire game, which it could of very easily have been. when the game was done, i only had 1 Kettengrad, 1 Panzer IV with full upgrades, 1 motor halftrack and 1 measily gren squad in need of upgrades against his infantry churchill, AVRE, command tank. and 3 tommy squads with brens and rilfe nades. I found it pretty amusing.

 If anyone can clear up exacly what a "1 button wonder is" fire an e-mail or PM off to me, cause it got me curious. Next blog should be up in a day or two, i'll probably talk about 1 strat players and something else unless i can fuel enough hate ranting on simple minded RTS players.
